So, I've been on this site for a few months now, and I would really like to see this place take off. We have the ability to turn this social outlet into an awesome place for amputees to turn to, whether they have a question, or just want to hang out with people of similar situations. Hello all, I found this site, and thought it would be a great place to hang out. My story begins on June 1, 2009, which began like any other day, woke up and went to work. I work for an auto parts store, delivering parts to other stores. I was on my third run, parked in the parking lot at approximately 1530 hours. I'm an OT with a nice gentleman client who has recently had his second below the elbow amputation. He has a very supportive wife but they both would prefer if he could clean himself on the toilet. I'm aware of assistive devices on the market, and that a bidet might be his best answer. However, all that begs the question whether there are devices out there that I'm unaware of, as bidets are expensive and the assistive devices in the catalogues require manipulation of toilet paper into and out of... read more..
