It does go on, and it depends on you how it goes on. I led my life in a fog and pretended this didnt happen. I went on my way thinking this was a bump in the road and I better figure out a new way to get shit done. So I did. I wheeled around in a chair for a bit, then I walked, and I was going back to work. nothing was going to stop me. this seemed to be so much easier to deal with than loosing my husband just 3yrs prior. It was only leg, what was I whining about. Get up get moving, and dont look back. Until I met Beth, she was in an accident almost identical to mine. She was on back with her husband, when some one came at her head on. Killing the one person who she loved and ripping her leg from her body. I didnt know her prior to her accident, I knew her adult daughter. Ariel introduced me to Beth once she came home from the hospital. In dealing with Beth and her pain, letting her know what she was feeling is real and it hurts like hell I had to face my own crap. I had to see reality, I lost a leg, I lost my best friend. I have become broken for a while. I have since gathered my self and thank Beth for making me deal with my issues head on and how am I going to be different today. My leg is not what makes up who I am, but who I am is how I present my leg. I wear my prothesis like a trophy. I have been hit by a drunk drive, I have been thrown 82 feet through the air, I had my leg ripped from my body, I am a single parent, I have lost 2 loves to death, and I am still standing. I am still a productive woman, I am strong, I am physically disabled (and get the good parking spots) and I am a survior. So I wear it as a trophy that I can not be defeated! I hope anyone that feels like they have been defeated takes another look and see that you are stronger than someone who has given up, someone who hasnt tried. Be proud! thanks. Red
