I have seen videos and read articles about the C-Leg and everybody is saying good things about it. I want to know what you think about it, if you have a C-leg please let me know how it has changed your life. Tell me your likes and dislikes about this revolutionary prosthetic.

I had my new C-Leg yesterday and it changes my life... OK, I had a very obsolete prosthesis before, but I can say this one is awesome ! I have a very short stump and I find it heavy but its functions make me forgot it I managed to go downstairs immediately, whereas I couldn't with the other one, and to walk everywhere even if the ground was bumped with no fear. The only thing which worries me is the foot they gave me : the C-Walk... It is very very hard and I hope they'll give me a softer one. I'm going to upload a video within the next days if I can and tell more about my progress. Like Terminator says : "Hasta la vista Baby !"

I had the C-leg for several years. I learned to walk again with it in 2004. I have a long stump so the weight is not that big a factor to me. Now I have a new leg that is much lighter called the Plie. (plee A) I find it to be very inconsistant and have fallen several times. I had an older model C-leg but prefer it to my new leg. My new knee is more water resistant that the C-leg which is good for walking in the rain. The C-leg would short out and beep at me if I sweat too much and leaked out the air valve in the socket. I got my C-Leg in '03. It is an awesome leg, but I've put mine through so many things that it wasn't designed to do. The moisture issue was a problem for me, as I am constantly doing things outdoors that requires me to be in situations where the leg will get wet. My leg has been rebuilt no less than half-dozen times. I received a new leg in late December that is not microprocessor controlled, and I absolutely love it. It's a "Mercury" knee, and I honestly can't tell the difference in the way it operates versus the c-leg. I don't have the concern of having a battery go dead, and the new leg weighs a good 2 pounds less than the c-leg. In addition to going with the new leg, I also went with a totally new suspension system, and love it. I now have a seal-in liner system, which makes donning the leg much easier, and walking is now easy. I'm sure that with time, I'll learn to hate it. But for now, I'm enjoying the newfound freedom. -Scott
