Everything has changed, even getting a cup of coffee and newspaper in the morning has become a whole production. I have not been fitted with a prosthesis yet and depend a lot on family. Still dealing with body image and intense phantom pain. I have a positive attitude but was very disappointed at the lack of information coming from the hospital and doctors; what to expect? when do you get fitted? how do you get fitted? how to deal with phantom pain? how do you deal with grief? new body image? does insurance cover? etc...
Sometimes I feel very alone even though I have a lot of family support.
